Workshop Trail Maintenance Project Planning and Design Program Administration

Five days of learning, collaboration & networking for trail professionals and emerging leaders within the trails community.

Four Tracks Sessions

Fundraising and Governance: This track will provide sessions on fundraising best practices, management of grants, emergency technology uses, tools for board members on nonprofit governance, and more.

Community Stewardship and Engagement: This track will provide attendees with the opportunity to share strategies on engaging the trail community on and off the trail, leveraging tools and funding from local and state governments to improve and/or protect trails, best practices for DEI work, and more.

Trail Operations, Management, and Planning: This track will focus on exploring best practices for trail maintenance and protection; use of new technologies for visitor engagement, guidance, and protection; examples of new programs nationwide; strategies for conservation and recreation land use, and more.

Advocating for our Trails: This track investigates strategies for engaging the broader public in long-term protection and promotion of our National Trails System, individual trails and the landscapes they traverse.

Learning Credits and CEUs

Learning credits will be available to attendees and are included in the registration fee. The length of the session will determine the number of hours/credits given. In order to obtain credits, attendees must fill out an evaluation survey for each session they attend, as well as complete a learning credit tracking form noting each session they are requesting credits for (or a quiz if virtual). This form (and complete instructions) will be available online as well at registration. Email the conference host or [email protected] with any questions.

American Trails is a certified provider and can offer the following learning credits and continuing education opportunities: AICP CM, LA CES (most HSW approved), NRPA CEU Equivalency Petition, and CEU/PDH Equivalency Petition for other accepting organizations.
