Earn Learning Credits and CEUs

American Trails offers learning credits for our Advancing Trails Webinar Series, our International Trails Summit, and other trail and outdoor recreation-related conferences, workshops, and webinars.

American Trails is a certified provider of the following learning credits and continuing education opportunities:

  • American Institute of Certified Planners Continuing Maintenance (AICP CM)
  • Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA CES) (most HSW approved)
  • National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) CEU equivalency petition
  • CEU/PDH equivalency petition for other accepting organizations

American Trails offers learning credits for our Advancing Trails Webinar Series, our International Trails Summit, and other trail and outdoor recreation-related conferences, workshops, and webinars.

How to earn learning credits as an attendee

Learning credits offered by American Trails are FREE for attendees although there may be a registration fee for the associated conference, workshop, or webinar in which credits are being offered.  American Trails can offer all credit types (LA CES and CEU/PDH equivalency petition) for sessions that are 60 minutes or longer; and can offer AICP CM only for planners for sessions that are 15 minutes or longer.

WEBINARS: If you selected that learning credits are required when registering for a webinar, you will receive an email following the webinar with more details on how to obtain credits. The length of the webinar will determine the amount of credits. Credits are available for live and archived webinars starting with our January 2018 webinar. Certificates are available to attendees that complete and pass the necessary quiz (as well as fill in the provided survey) that is provided via the webinar host and/or American Trails.

CONFERENCES: The amount and types of credits earned for conferences depends on the sessions and workshops offered. Details to receive learning credits for a conference will be explained when you check in at the registration area. Certificates are available to attendees that complete and turn in their tracking sheet (as well as fill in the provided survey) that is provided via the conference host and/or American Trails.
