If you are affiliated with an agency, organization, staff member, volunteer or an individual interested in making a difference in the recreational trail world, then these classes are for you! These online training events are perfect for outdoor enthusiasts looking to enhance their skills and make a positive impact on trails.
Chinook Associates is excited to offer this series of virtual Trail Crew Leader Workshops. These classes focus on the “Soft Skills” required to effectively lead a team to accomplish a trail task. There are five one-hour classes and the class size is limited to 15 students. The workshops are led by an experienced trail professional and the students should expect an interactive discussion.
Participants in this class will discuss three different leadership characteristics: Autocratic, Democratic and Laissez-Faire and in what circumstances it would be appropriate to apply them in a trail crew environment. A discussion of different learning styles; Visual, Auditory and Tactile (VAT) and effective teaching strategies in a field environment will occur.
