I'm in the process of building McDowell Tech Trail School into a national-level Trail Construction program. The school was founded as part of McDowell Tech Community College in early 2022. When I'm not setting up classes and writing grant proposals, I'm out building new trail, working for a local forestry company, serving as a Trail Crew Leader for the G5 Trail Collective in Old Fort, NC or shuttling MTB riders to upper trail heads on Mt. Mitchell with my company Mountain Top Shuttles. Work less, ride more... I'm trying.

Hand Built Trails is a course for trail builders, volunteer coordinators, volunteers, land managers and anyone interested in the process of trail flagging, corridor clearing and hand building trails.
