Hand Built Trails is a course for trail builders, volunteer coordinators, volunteers, land managers and anyone interested in sustainable trail design and the process of map work, trail flagging, corridor clearing and hand building trail techniques.

This class begins with classroom presentations that cover all principles and techniques needed in the field. The vast majority of the workshop occurs in the forest near Old Fort, NC where students will fully complete the process of design, flag, brush, and build a trail segment.
