Turning Trail Work Into Measurable Impact: Trailfunds in Action

Virtual Training

Webinar Program Administration

Following the introductory Trailfunds webinar, this session takes a practical, hands-on look at how organizations are using the platform to plan, document, and communicate stewardship work.

Webinar Outline

This webinar is a continuation of the June 25, 2026 webinar Turning Trail Work Into Measurable Impact.

Following the introductory Trailfunds webinar, this session takes a practical, hands-on look at how organizations are using the platform to plan, document, and communicate stewardship work.

Rather than focusing on the challenges facing stewardship organizations, this webinar will dive directly into the application’s workflows through a combination of live demonstrations, screen recordings, and real-world examples from organizations currently piloting Trailfunds.

Attendees will see how Trailfunds supports the complete stewardship lifecycle, including project planning, volunteer events, field reporting, geospatial documentation, impact visualization, and organizational reporting.

Featured examples will include current pilot implementations with the Pennsylvania Parks and Forests Foundation (PPFF), San Luis Valley Great Outdoors (SLV GO), and Corvus Consulting, demonstrating how the same platform can support nonprofit stewardship organizations, volunteer programs, and environmental consulting work.

Topics will include:

  • Creating and managing stewardship projects
  • Volunteer event planning and participant management
  • Mobile field reporting and offline workflows
  • Mapping trails, work locations, and completed stewardship activities
  • Collecting standardized field observations with photos and GPS
  • Internal documentation versus external agency reporting
  • Measuring stewardship impact through dashboards and geospatial visualization
  • Lessons learned from active pilot organizations
  • A look at upcoming capabilities and the future direction of the platform

This session is intended for organizations that want a deeper technical understanding of how Trailfunds can streamline stewardship operations while producing more useful data for staff, partners, funders, and land managers.

Learning Objectives:

  • Demonstrate the core workflows of the Trailfunds platform.
Participants will identify how to create and manage stewardship projects, coordinate volunteer events, document field activities, and organize stewardship data using Trailfunds.
  • Apply digital tools to improve stewardship documentation and reporting.
Participants will explain how mobile field reporting, geospatial mapping, standardized data collection, and impact dashboards can improve communication with staff, partners, funders, and land managers.
  • Evaluate implementation strategies based on real-world case studies.
Participants will assess lessons learned from current Trailfunds pilot organizations and identify opportunities to streamline stewardship operations and strengthen organizational reporting within their own programs.
