Are you interested in learning more about the use, history, and maintenance of a crosscut saw? If so, you are in luck! The AMC Trails Department is happy to announce a new workshop dedicated to the maintenance and sharpening of the crosscut saw.
The class will spend a few hours in the workshop here at the Camp Dodge Trails Center, going over different types of saws with hands-on learning about how to properly sharpen and file these historic saws. After classroom time in the shop, we will be moving outside to put your work to the test and see how the saws cuts.
This course is designed to provide the technical knowledge and skills that employees or volunteers will need to maintain crosscut saws safely through a combination of classroom and field training.
Please be sure to wear long pants, good boots, food, water, and any layers you may need to be outside. Personal protection equipment such as gloves, eye protection, and hardhat will be provided.
