2026 Telegraph Canyon, Superior, AZ

New hand-built trail construction (1.5 mi) in Telegraph Canyon (Tonto National Forest), Superior, AZ. This was a popular hiking area without an official USFS trail. The public was walking through the wash which became unsustainable due to seasonal floods. In partnership with USFS, we built a trail designed to get hikers up out of the wash. The project involves nearly 1.5 miles of hand-built trail, about 50 feet of tread cut into bedrock with a hydraulic breaker, the installation of a retaining wall and rock steps.
