Role: Project Supervisor
I was the project supervisor for the Youth Employment in Parks program, a municipality program that hires a trail professional to lead the youth crews for the season.
-Kincaid Park Disc Golf Course - We constructed fences, built retaining structures for most tee pads on the course, added additional tee pads, built retaining structures for baskets, hardened tread on connecting trails between holes, and rehabbed social trails.
-University Lake Dog Park - Bank Restoration: Crews spent a focused week executing targeted streambank and shoreline stabilization along eroded portions of the lake. Trail & Signage Infrastructure: The teens completed soft-surface trail tread improvements and updated park signage and wayfinding to assist visitors navigating the park.
- Invasive Removal - Bird Cherry Eradication: Crews removed invasive European bird cherry trees and saplings.
- Campbell Creek Trail - Teens constructed specialized spruce root wads for bio-engineered streambank stabilization, which protects salmon habitats from heavy erosion.
- Cheney Lake Park - The crew hauled gravel and installed culverts to correct persistent drainage issues and improve the walking tread along the loop trail.
