Fernhill Restoration and Trail Construction

2026 Philadelphia PA

Role: Trail master Design Lead

Over the past three years, an extensive volunteer-led initiative has been undertaken in the northern
section of Fernhill Park (bordered by W Abbottsford Ave, Morris St, and W Roosevelt Blvd). The
primary goal was to reclaim approximately 4 acres of severely overgrown, vine-infested woodlands.
This project has successfully resulted in the clearing of invasive species, the sustainable
construction of roughly 3 miles of multi-use/mountain bike (MTB) trails, the restoration of critical
wildlife habitats, and the unearthing of highly significant historical and archaeological artifacts
spanning from the Lenape people to the construction of Roosevelt Boulevard.
