2019 Bear Mountain New York
Role: Field Manager
This was a 12 year project to relocate 1.5 miles of the Appalachian Trail at Bear Mountain. As the Field Manager in 2018 and 2019 I led a trail crew of 5-10 AmeriCorps members and led daily 'drop in' volunteer opportunities so people could work with the AmeriCorps members to install stone stairs, dry stone retaining walls and various drainage structures. We used both aerial rigging and a mini-skid steer to move the stairs closer to the worksite and I managed all the machine rentals, aggregate orders/deliveries and the training of all crew members and volunteers.
