Internship - Facilities Management

The SCA Interns will assist with all programs managed from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Upper Connecticut River Basin Office (UCRB) in Perkinsville, Vermont. The majority of work will be completed at Ball Mountain Dam in Townshend and Jamaica, VT, and North Springfield Lakes in Springfield, VT. This is primarily an outdoors position.
The UCRB flood risk management projects were designed and built for multiple-purpose uses, such as municipal and industrial water supply, navigation, irrigation, hydroelectric power, conservation of fish and wildlife, and recreation. Along the UCRB there are seven dams that work together to reduce flood damages in the region. Most of the individual UCRB project sites average 1,000 acres. Elevations range from approximately 1,160 feet NGVP at Ball Mountain to 480 feet NGVP at North Springfield. The reservoir hillsides are forested while most open areas are grass fields along the floodplains. The project sites have developed recreation areas, passive recreation areas, approximately 20 miles of multipurpose trails used by mountain bikers, hikers, trail runners and equestrian users, and one 111 site campground.
